This text describes the results of three studies on the efficacy of Doazosin in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and hypertension. The maximum flow rate and symptom scores were determined after administering either a placebo or Doazosin. Study 1 involved a titration to a maximum dose of 8mg while Study 2 had a fixed dose for 14 weeks. Study 3 had a titration to a fixed dose for 12 weeks. In all studies, the results showed that Doazosin was more effective in improving maximum flow rate and symptom scores compared to placebo. The text also notes that 236 patients received a dose of 8 mg dokazosin.*
