Metoclopramide Injection is a medication that is used intramuscularly or intravenously, presented in 5 single-dose vials of 2mL each containing 5 mg/mL of metoclopramide as the hydrochloride. Each mL of the injection also contains 5mg of metoclopramide as the hydrochloride, 8.5mg of sodium chloride, and water for injection. The pH is adjusted using hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide, if necessary. The usual dosage, prescribing information, precautions, and warnings can be found in the product insert. The injection should be discarded if unused, and stored at 20°C to 25°C, protected from light until used. It should be noted that the unit dose package is not child resistant and is intended for Institutional Use Only. The medication guide should also be dispensed to each patient.
