Bismuth Tabs are tablets that contain bismuth subsalicylate 262 mg and are used as an antidiarrheal and an upset stomach reliever. They can provide soothing relief for indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhea, heartburn, nausea, and gas. These tablets are not recommended for children and teenagers, especially if they have flu-like symptoms or chickenpox. Bismuth Tabs should not be used by people with ulcers, bleeding problems, or allergies to salicylates. Before using them, it is recommended to ask a doctor if they are taking any medication for anticoagulation, diabetes, gout, or arthritis. The tablets should be taken by dissolving them in the mouth or chewing them. Adults and children over 12 years old should take two tablets every 10 to 15 minutes as needed, but no more than 8 doses (16 tablets) in 24 hours. Bismuth Tabs can cause temporary but harmless darkening of the stool and/or tongue. If symptoms get worse, a doctor should be consulted. In case of an overdose, medical help should be sought immediately.*
