Nighttime Cold & Flu Relief is a pain reliever, fever reducer, cough suppressant and antihistamine drug for temporarily relieving common cold symptoms such as a cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation, sneezing, runny nose, and minor aches and pains. However, it contains acetaminophen. Severe liver damage may occur if a user takes more than 4,000 mg of acetaminophen in 24 hours with or without drugs containing acetaminophen or consumes three or more alcoholic drinks while using the drug, warns the label. Additionally, users who are taking sedatives or tranquilizers, the blood thinning drug warfarin, or who have certain health conditions such as v disease, glaucoma, persistent or chronic cough, or trouble urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland, are strongly suggested to seek medical advice before using the product. Contact a doctor, as well, if the sore throat is severe, persists for over two days, or is accompanied or followed by fever, headache, rash, nausea, or vomiting. The product should be kept out of reach of children and overdose should be avoided. Quick medical attention for adults and children is critical even if the user does not notice any symptoms or signs. A printed neckband should not be broken or missing to use the product. The drug should be taken as directed, with a maximum of four doses per 24 hours, only by adults and children aged 12 or older, using a dose cup provided with it. Children under 1215 are advised to consult a doctor before use and children under 4y must not use it. However, the label writes that this product is not manufactured or distributed by the owner of the registered trademarks Vicks and NyQuil. The name of the product's owner is not mentioned as well. Inactive ingredients include but are not limited to alcohol anhydrous, citric acid, high-fructose corn syrup, purified water, and sodium citrate.*
