GERI-CARE Stool Softener is a medication containing 100mg of Docusate Sodium that relieves occasional constipation and typically produces a bowel movement within 12 to 72 hours. The medication is recommended for use by adults and children above 12 years of age. Any sudden change in bowel habits that persists over a period of 2 weeks, rectal bleeding, and failure to have regular bowel movement could be signs of a serious condition, in which case a doctor should be asked. The pills come in a convenient bottle containing 100 100mg tablets with instructions not to exceed the recommended dose for adults and children 12 years and older. The medication should be stored at room temperature, and its seal under the cap should not be used if broken or missing. A doctor should be consulted for children under 12. In case of overdose, medical help or a Poison Control Center should be contacted immediately.*
