This is a drug information sheet for Mucus Relief, an expectorant that helps to loosen phlegm and thin bronchial secretions to make coughs more productive and relieve congestion. It contains guaifenesin 400mg as an active ingredient. It is intended for use by adults and children over the age of 12 years, and the dosage is one caplet every four hours, not exceeding six doses within 24 hours. The medication should not be used for children under 12 years of age. Persons with persistent or chronic cough such as those that occur with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis, or emphysema should seek medical advice before using the medication. Stop use immediately and ask a doctor if the cough lasts more than seven days, occurs with fever, rash or persistent headache, as these could be signs of a serious illness. The medication should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women without consulting a doctor, and it should be kept out of reach of children. The inactive ingredients include cellulose, magnesium stearate, maltodextrin, povidone, silica, and stearic acid.*
