Drug Facts PRO STAT is a hydrocortisone cream that provides temporary relief for itching associated with minor skin irritations, inflammation, and rashes caused by conditions such as eczema, insect bites, poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, soaps, detergents, cosmetics, jewelry, seborrheic dermatitis, and psoriasis. It can also be used for external genital itching. This cream should not be used in the eyes, for diaper rash, for external genital or feminine itching if there is a vaginal discharge, or if pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting a healthcare professional. It should not be applied internally to the rectum. If symptoms persist or worsen for more than 7 days, or if bleeding occurs due to anal itching, a doctor should be consulted. The cream should be applied to the affected area not more than 3 to 4 times daily for adults and children aged 2 and older, but children under 2 should consult a doctor before use. The affected area should be cleansed with mild soap and warm water before application. This cream should be stored at room temperature and kept away from excessive heat. Inactive ingredients include cetostearyl alcohol, glyceryl monostearate SE, methylchloroisthiazolinone, propylene glycol, purified water, stearic acid, triethanolamine, and white petrolatum.
