Maxi-Tuss PE is a medicine used for nasal decongestion and antihistamine purposes. It comes in a bubblegum flavor and is sugar-free and gluten-free. Each teaspoonful contains 2mg Brompheriramine Maleate and 5mg Phery/lephrine HCI. It can relieve symptoms of a runny nose, sneezing, itching of the nose or throat, watery eyes, and nasal congestion, and can reduce swelling of nasal passages, associated with respiratory allergies and hay fever. It is manufactured by MCR American Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and must not be used by anyone taking prescription monoamines oxidase (MAOI) drugs for depression, emotional conditions, or Parkinson’s disease, or for two weeks after stopping a MAOI drug unless approved by a doctor. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult with a healthcare professional before using it. Dosage should not exceed recommendations: Adults and children over 12 years should take two teaspoonfuls every 4 hours, not exceeding 12 teaspoonfuls in 24 hours; children 6 years and under age should take one teaspoonful every 4 hours, not exceeding 6 teaspoonfuls in 24 hours, as directed by a doctor. The product may cause excitability, drowsiness, or dizziness, so people should not drink alcoholic beverages or operate machinery while using it. If symptoms persist for over 7 days, new symptoms occur, or nervousness, dizziness, insomnia, or fever occur during use, people should stop using it and consult a doctor. It also contains several inactive ingredients, including bubblegum flavor, citric acid, FORC Red #40, methylparaben, potassium citrate, purified water, propylene glycol, propylparaben, sorbitol, and sucralose.*
