This is a description of a medication called VANACOF 2. Each 5 mL (1 teaspoonful) of VANACOF 2 contains 12.5mg of Chlophedianol HC1 and 1mg of Dexchlorpheniramine Maleate. VANACOF 2 is a cough suppressant and antihistamine. It is sugar-free, alcohol-free, and dye-free. It should be stored in a tight, light-resistant container with a child-resistant cap. This medication is not to be dispensed to consumers. It is intended for temporary relief of symptoms due to the common cold, hay fever, or other upper respiratory allergies. It can relieve symptoms such as a runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose or throat, itchy watery eyes, and minor throat and bronchial irritation. There are some warnings associated with the use of VANACOF 2, including not to use it for a persistent or chronic cough, to consult a doctor if you have certain health conditions or are taking sedatives or tranquilizers. It is also advised to use caution when driving or operating machinery as it may cause drowsiness. The directions for use include recommended dosages for adults and children 12 years and over, children 6 to under 12 years, and children under 6 years, along with information on storage and inactive ingredients.
