Docosanol Cream, 10%, is a cold sore and fever blister treatment that has been proven to shorten healing time and alleviate symptoms such as tingling, pain, itching, and burning. It contains 10% docosanol, which is the active ingredient also found in Abreva®. It is recommended to apply the cream at the first sign of a cold sore outbreak for the best results. It can be used by adults and children aged 12 and over up to five times a day. The cream is for topical use only and can be used in conjunction with cosmetics like lipstick, using a separate applicator to prevent the spread of infection.*
