This is a drug facts sheet for famotidine tablets which are used for preventing and relieving heartburn associated with acid indigestion and sour stomach. These tablets are known to prevent heartburn brought on by certain food and beverages and are not advised to be used if one exhibits signs of serious conditions such as having trouble swallowing, persistent vomiting with blood, black stools, frequent chest pain, unexplained weight loss, kidney disease, stomach pain, and more. One should always ask a doctor before taking these tablets, especially if they have a heartburn lasting over three months or experience signs of a heart attack. The inactive ingredients are camuaba wax, hypromellose, iron oxide yellow, and others. If in case of an overdose or queries, one can contact medical help or the Poison Control Center.*
