This is a description of a medication called CVS. It compares the active ingredient, which is Capsaicin 0.15%, to the active ingredient in Capzasin. This medication is a topical analgesic that temporarily relieves minor pain of muscles and joints associated with arthritis, simple backache, strains, sprains, and bruises. However, it warns that it is for external use only and should not be applied to wounds, damaged, broken or irritated skin. In case of a severe burning sensation, the medication should be discontinued immediately, and a doctor consulted. The medication also contains inactive ingredients such as Carbomer, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, SD, High potency Alcohol 40-2 (35%), Triethanolamine, and Water. It is distributed by GVS Pharmacy, Inc. and comes in a 1 FL OZ (30 mL) bottle.*
