CVS Pharmacy Ear Drops is a safe and gentle method for softening and removing excessive earwax. It contains glycerin, propylene glycol, purified water, sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, citric acid, flavor, sodium stannate, and 6.5% carbamide peroxide. It is important to note that the earwax removal aid should not be used if the seal under the cap is torn or missing. Also, individuals with ear drainage, ear pain, irritation or rash in the ear, dizziness, an injury or perforation (hole) of the ear drum, or have recently had ear surgery should consult a doctor before using the product. Adults and children over 12 years of age are directed to tilt their head sideways and place 5 to 10 drops into the ear. Drops foam on contact with earwax expectorate oxygen, so there may be an associated “crackling" sound. After keeping the drops in the ear for several minutes, any earwax remaining after treatment can be removed by gently flushing the ear with warm water or using a soft rubber bulb ear syringe.*
