This is a description of Nitrofurantoin Capsules, USP used as a urinary tract antibacterial. Each capsule contains the equivalent of 100mg of nitrofurantoin in the form of 25mg nitrofurantoin macrocrystals and 75g nitrofurantoin monohydrate. The usual dosage is one capsule every 12 hours for adults, taken with food. The drug should be stored at 20° to 25°C (68 to 77°F) with excursions permitted between 15° to 30°C (59 to 86°F) in a USP controlled room temperature. The package contains 100 capsules (10x10) and should be kept out of reach of children.
