Naproxen and naproxen sodium are chemical compounds used as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to alleviate pain, inflammation, and fever. Naproxen (R=-COOH) has the molecular formula CyHy,O and a molecular weight of 123,026 g/mol. Naproxen sodium (R=-COONa) has a molecular formula of Cy¢H;gNaOy, a molecular weight of 252.23 g/mol, and is the sodium salt form of naproxen.*
