Oravig (miconazole) buccal tablets are a prescription antifungal medicine used to treat fungal infections in adults in the mouth and throat. This medication should not be used in children below the age of 16 as there is a risk of choking. Patients should not use Oravig if they are allergic to miconazole, milk protein concentrate or any other ingredients in the medication. It is essential to consult with a doctor before taking Oravig to disclose medical conditions such as liver problems, pregnancy, and breastfeeding, as well as all other prescription or over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Oravig should be used as directed by a physician and will initially be applied once a day to the upper gum for fourteen days. Patients should not crush, chew, or swallow Oravig but only remove and reapply it if swallowed or misplaced within six hours.*

ORAVIG is a medication used to treat oral thrush. You should avoid certain activities while using ORAVIG, such as pressing or brushing too vigorously, wearing dentures that interfere with placement, and changing the gum. ORAVIG may cause severe allergic reactions, such as skin rashes, trouble swallowing or breathing, and swelling of the face, eyes, tongue, or throat. Other, more common side effects can include nausea or vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, headaches, and changes in taste. You should consult a doctor if these symptoms are persistent or severe. ORAVIG should be stored in a dry and cool place at room temperature, and should be kept away from children. Its active ingredient is miconazole and also includes some inactive ingredients such as hypromellose, milk protein concentrate, corn starch, lactose monofycrate, sodium lauryl sulfate, magnesium stearate, and talc.
