Oxygen, refrigerated liquid in a container of liters is a highly volatile and pressurized oxidizing liquid that should be kept upright and can cause frostbite. No one is allowed to smoke in the presence of oxygen or a fire may result. Combustibles in contact with liquid oxygen may explode on ignition or impact. It should be used only with equipment cleaned for oxygen service, store and use with adequate ventilation. If the liquid comes in contact with eyes, skin or clothing, it should be avoided. Face shield and gloves should be used during liquid withdrawal, and spillage should be avoided. Emergency use of oxygen should be administered by properly trained personnel, and high concentrations of oxygen should only be used with pressure reducing equipment and apparatus designed for oxygen.*
