Cayston is an inhalation solution that contains 75mg of aztreonam per vial and is intended for oral inhalation only through the use of the Altera Nebulizer System. It is stored in a refrigerated environment at 2°C - 8°C and comes with 84 single-use vials of the solution, 88 diluent ampules of Sodium Chloride, and 4 additional ampules provided just in case of spillage. Each 73mg dose of Cayston is added to a reservoir of sodium chloride and inhaled using the Altera Nebulizer system. The package insert contains the dosage and administration guidelines. The product is manufactured by Gilead and distributed by GenaCare Pharmaceuticals.*
