Acyclovir Cream is a medication used specifically for cold sores. It contains 50 mg of acyclovir along with other ingredients such as cetostearyl alcohol, mineral oil, poloxamer 407, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfate, water, and white petrolatum. This cream is intended for cutaneous use only. The usual dosage is to apply it five times per day for four days, but you should refer to the prescribing information for specific dosage instructions. The cream should be stored at or below 25°C (77°F) with excursions permitted to 15°-30°C (59°-86°F). The lot number and expiry date can be found on the crimp of the tube. This cream is manufactured by Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited (Derma Division) in Karakhadi, Vadodara, India, and is distributed by Alembic Pharmaceuticals, Inc., based in Bedminster, NJ, USA.
