5% Dextrose Injection, USP is a solution for intravenous use and contains 5 grams of dextrose monohydrate per 100 ml of water for injection. The solution is a single-dose only and should be discarded if any unused portion is remaining. It is advised to use aseptic technique when introducing actives into the solution to avoid Rouleau formation. The dosage should be as per package instructions. The container closure is not made with natural rubber latex, Nor-DEHR, or Non-PVC and is sterile. The solution must not be used for blood transfusions as it can lead to possible Rouleau formation. The product must be stored in a controlled room temperature ranging from 20°C to 25°C and should be protected from freezing. The product is manufactured in Norway and the overwrap is moisture-proof.*
