Ertapenem is a prescription drug available in a single-dose vial form. Each vial contains 1.046 grams of Ertapenem sodium which is equivalent to 1 gram ertapenem. The inactive ingredients include 175 mg sodium bicarbonate and sodium hydroxide to adjust the pH to 7.5. The solution varies from colorless to pale yellow but the variations of color within this do not affect its potency.
