This is the drug facts information for Povidone-iodine 10% antiseptic sponge sticks. They are typically used prior to surgery to reduce bacteria that potentially causes infection. It is intended for external use only and should not be used on individuals allergic to iodine. The product comes with 2 sterile 8-inch sponge sticks and should not be used in the eyes. Before use on injuries such as deep wounds, puncture wounds, and serious burns or any sign of irritation or redness, a doctor must be consulted. If the condition persists for more than 72 hours or an infection occurs, stop use and ask a doctor. Additionally, prolonged exposure to the solution may cause irritation. The product should be kept out of reach of children. If swallowed or the solution comes in contact with the eyes, seek medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away. The product contains Povidone-lodine USP 10% as the active ingredient.*
