Acyclovir ointment is a medication used for treating herpes simplex virus infections, including genital herpes. Each gram of the ointment contains 50 mg of acyclovir in a polyethylene glycol base. The usual dosage is to apply the ointment six times a day for seven days, with a three-hour interval between each application. Keep the medication out of reach of children and store it in a dry place at a temperature between 15°C and 25°C. The National Drug Code (NDC) for the medication is 63629-2328-1.*
