This is a description for a drug that contains Mineral oil, an intestinal lubricant that is used to relieve occasional constipation. It generally produces a bowel movement within 6 to 8 hours. However, it should not be used if you have difficulty swallowing, stomach reflux, abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting, and noticed a sudden change in bowel habits, which persists over a period of 2 weeks. Do not take with meals, take only at bedtime, and do not use for a period longer than 1 week if you are bedridden or aged. Furthermore, if rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use is observed, stop use, and contact a doctor immediately. The drug can be taken by adults and children over 12 years in a dose of 3 tablespoons (15-45 mL) as a single daily dose or in divided doses, with a maximum of 3 tablespoons (45 mL) in 24 hours.
