This is a drug description for an Acetaminophen 500 mg tablet. It is a pain reliever and fever reducer that can be used for minor aches and pains from headaches, muscular aches, backaches, menstrual cramps, minor arthritis pain, toothaches, common cold, and reduces temporary fever. However, it comes with several warnings, such as not to be taken with other drugs containing acetaminophen, or if an adult has three or more alcoholic drinks every day. It is also not recommended for children under 12 years of age. If the recipient develops other symptoms, redness, or swelling, it is best to stop its use immediately and ask a doctor. The overdose might cause severe liver damage. If an overdose occurs, it is vital to contact a Poison Control Center right away. The inactive ingredient of this product is Polyvinylpyrrolidone, pregelatinized Starch, sodium starch glycolate, and stearic acid.
