Mineral Oil 100% (Mineral Oil Liquid 1)
This is a drug fact sheet for a product that contains 10% mineral oil. It is used to relieve occasional constipation. It produces bowel movements within 6-8 hours. The product should not be used by children under 12 years, pregnant or breastfeeding women, bedridden patients or those having difficulty swallowing. It is advised to consult a doctor before use if one suffers from abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting. The product should not be taken with meals and only at bedtime. It may be taken as a single daily dose or divided into multiple doses. The maximum amount for adults and children over 12 years of age is 1-3 tablespoons (15-45 ml) per day. The inactive ingredient is Vitamin E, and the product contains a safety seal. If the seal is broken or missing, the product must not be used.*
