Guaifenesin 600 mg (Mucus Relief 600 mg Extended Release Caplets 1)
This is a drug facts sheet for an extended-release tablet containing Guaifenesin 600mg as the active ingredient. The product is an expectorant that helps loosen phlegm and thin bronchial secretions to make coughs more productive. It is used to clear the bronchial passageways of mucus. This product is not to be used for children under 12 years old. It is advisable to consult a doctor before using it if you have a persistent cough that occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis, or emphysema, or if cough is accompanied by too much phlegm (mucus). Pregnant or breastfeeding mothers should consult health professionals before using. The product should be kept out of reach from children, and in case of overdose, medical assistance should be sought immediately. The tablets should be taken with a full glass of water without crushing or breaking. Adults and children 12 years of age and over should take 1 or 2 tablets every 12 hours, but no more than 4 tablets per 24 hours. Inactive ingredients include carbomer, colloidal silicon dioxide, FD&C blue #1 aluminum lake, hypromellose, Taciose monofyciate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, and poidone. The product features a 12-hour relief action, and its blister unit should not be used if torn, broken, or shows any signs of tampering. The outer carton contains complete warnings and information.
