This is a description of Piperacillin and Tazobactam for Injection, USP. It is a preservative-free, single-dose vial for intravenous use only. Each vial contains piperacillin sodium equivalent to 2 grams of piperacillin and tazobactam sodium equivalent to 0.25 g of tazobactam and 47 mEq (108 mg) of sodium. Before reconstitution, it should be stored at 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F). The container closure is not made with natural rubber latex. After reconstitution, any unused portion should be discarded after 24 hours if stored at room temperature, or after 48 hours if refrigerated.
