Chlorhexidine Gluconate Oral Rinse is a medication used to treat oral health problems such as gingivitis. The medication has been known to cause adverse reactions such as edema, paresthesia, and minor oral mucosa irritation. Overdose of the medication could cause alcohol intoxication, which is why it is important that it is taken in the correct dose of 12-15 ml twice a day for 30 seconds. The medication should not be ingested and is only intended for oral use. It comes in a 16 fl oz (473 mL) amber plastic bottle with a child-resistant closure. It should be dispensed in the original container or in amber glass. The medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored above freezing 0°C (32°F).
