This is a description for a medication called Sodium Phenylacetate and Sodium Benzoate Injection, which comes in a 50 mL single-dose vial. The medication is intended for IV use only and must be diluted before administration. Each mL contains 100mg of sodium phenylacetate and 100mg of sodium benzoate. The injection solution is sterile and non-pyrogenic, and may contain sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid for pH adjustment. The package insert should be consulted for dosage instructions. The medication must be administered by a central venous catheter and not through peripheral infusion. The unused portion must be discarded after administration.
