Cautionary details and important instructions for the safe use of ViaNOx-H™ 5000 ppm, a compressed gas containing Nitric Oxide, Nitrogen. The product is only for topical use as it contains a new drug, and not for inhalation beyond the nasopharynx. Carefully read and understand the Material Safety Data Sheet before use, and use only in accordance with your Institutional Review Board approved protocol. The gas mixture must be administered by or under the supervision of a licensed practitioner experienced with gas mixtures, familiar with the indications, effects, dosages, testing methods, and the hazards, contraindications, side effects, and precautions. The cylinder containing the gas mixture is high pressure and can cause rapid suffocation without warning, thus special equipment rated for cylinder pressure should be used. The cylinder should be stored and used with adequate ventilation, and secured in use and storage. The cylinder temperature should not exceed 125°F (62'C). In case of emergency, remove the affected person to fresh air, perform chest resuscitation or provide artificial respiration, and, if necessary, seek medical help. To be refilled, the cylinder should be returned with 150 psig to only pharmaceutical facilities authorized by CareFusion.
