This is a description of Hemorrhoidal Ointment, which is an ointment used to help relieve the local itching and discomfort associated with hemorrhoids. It helps temporarily shrink hemorrhoidal tissue, relieves burning, and provides a coating for relief of anorectal discomforts. It is also used to temporarily protect the inflamed, irritated surface to help make bowel movements less painful and relieve internal and external discomfort. One should ask a doctor before use if they have heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes, or trouble urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland. It is for external and/or intrarectal use only. The ointment contains mineral oil, petrolatum, glycerin, lanolin, methylparaben, and propylparaben, among other inactive ingredients.
