The active ingredient is Salicylic Acid (0.5%), an acne medication, and it should be used for the management of acne. Excessive drying may occur; hence, start with one application daily and gradually increase if necessary. If bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, reduce the application to once a day or every other day.
