Defitelio® is an injectable medication containing defibrotide sodium that needs to be diluted before intravenous infusion. Each 2.5 mL contains 200 mg defibrotide sodium, and must be used as a single-patient-use vial. The medication is distributed by Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. See the package insert for detailed information on preparation and administration. It contains 25 mg Sodium Citrate, USP and Water for Injection, USP. It should be stored at a temperature between 20°C to 25°C.*
