This is a description of an antibiotic ointment that is used in first aid to prevent infection in minor cuts, scrapes, and burns. The ointment contains active ingredients like bacitracin zinc, neomycin sulfate, and polymyxin B sulfate. It is important to not use the ointment if the packet is torn or cut and to keep it away from the reach of children. The ointment should not be used over large areas of the body or on serious burns, animal bites or puncture wounds. The instructions include cleaning the affected area and applying a small amount of ointment for 1 to 3 times daily, which may be covered with a sterile bandage. Inactive ingredients in the ointment include petrolatum.*
