Mucus Relief DM Max is a cough syrup that contains Dextromethorphan HBr as a suppressant and Guaifenesin as an expectorant which helps to loosen phlegm and reduce chest congestion. It is a multi-symptom relief cough medicine that provides temporary relief from cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation and helps to reduce the intensity and frequency of coughing. The product comes with a warning that not to use it while taking any prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitors or for two weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. The recommended dose is 20 ml every 4 hours for adults and children 12 years of age and older, and one should not exceed six doses in any 24-hour period. If cough and other symptoms persist for more than 7 days, it may indicate a severe health condition. An overdose of the medication can be dangerous, and medical assistance should be sought in such instances.*
