APF Gel Thixotropic Treatment is a preventative dental caries treatment gel containing 1.23% fluoride ion. The product is gluten-free and contains xylitol. It is only intended for professional office use and is not meant for home or unsupervised consumer use. The product should be used after thorough prophylaxis and is intended for in-office patient use. The gel can be used as a one-minute or four-minute fluoride gel. The treatment is administered by filling two single or one dual tray with one third of the gel, then inserting them into the mouth after air-drying the teeth. The patient bites down lightly for one or four minutes and then removes the trays and expectorates any excess. The product also contains citric acid, FD&C Red #40, magnesium aluminum silicate, phosphoric acid, polysorbate 20, sodium benzoate, sodium saccharin, titanium dioxide, water, xantham gum, and xyitol.*
