This is a drug information for a cream containing Hydrocortisone Acetate USP (1%) that is used to temporarily relieve minor skin irritations, itching, and rashes due to eczema, insect bites, poison ivy, poison sumac, poison oak, soaps, detergents, cosmetics, jewelry, and external anal, feminine and genital itching. It is only for external use and should be used under the advice and supervision of a doctor. The package contains 10 oz (28.39) of the cream. The drug facts provide warnings not to use in the eyes or for diaper rash or in case of vaginal discharge, not to exceed the recommended dosage, and to consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If conditions worsen or persist for more than 7 days, medical attention is advisable. If swallowed, medical help or contact with a Poison Control Center is necessary. The cream should be applied evenly to affected areas up to 3-4 times daily for adults and children over 2 years old, and use by children under 2 years is prohibited. The affected area should be cleaned with mild soap and warm water and dried gently with bathroom tissue or soft cloth before each application. The package should be stored at room temperature and kept away from excessive heat and humidity. The inactive ingredients include cetostearylalcohol, chlorocresol, ceteth-20, edetat disodium, liquid paraffin, propylene glycol, purified water, sodium metabisulfate, and white soft paraffin.*
