Cystex is a urinary pain relief tablet that contains methenamine and sodium salicylate (NSAID). This product should not be used by children and teenagers who have or are recovering from chicken pox or flu-like symptoms. It can cause stomach bleeding, and the risk is higher for people who are over 60 years old, have stomach ulcers or bleeding problems, take blood thinners or steroid drugs, take other drugs containing an NSAID, have 3 or more alcoholic drinks every day, or take more than directed.
