This is a drug facts sheet for a Tetracaine 2% topical anesthetic ointment. It is intended for temporary pain and itching relief. The ointment should only be used externally and should be kept away from eyes and mucus membranes. Individuals who are allergic to any of the ingredients should not use this product. It is recommended that individuals consult with a physician before use if pregnant or breastfeeding. The ointment should only be applied to the affected areas not more than three to four times daily. Children under two years of age should receive advice from a doctor. It should not be used on open, damaged, raw or blistered skin. If the condition worsens or persists for more than seven days, discontinue use and consult a physician. In case of ingestion, the poison control center should be contacted. Other ingredients include Acrylates, C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Aqua(Deionized Water), Beeswax, Benzyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Dehydroacetic Acid, Glycerin, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Oil, Polysorbate 20, Sodium Hydroxide, and Stearic Acid.
