Triceptin is a topical pain patch that relieves mild to moderate muscle and joint pain associated with muscle soreness, strains, sprains, arthritis, backache, muscle stiffness, and bruises. It contains Lidocaine 4%, Menthol 1%, and Methyl Salicylate 2%. The patch should not be used on cut, irritated, or swollen skin or puncture wounds. Additionally, it should be disposed of carefully in a manner that prevents children and pets from ingesting. Warnings include the chance of stomach bleeding, which can be small but higher in those aged 60 or over, have had stomach ulcers or bleeding problems, or take drugs containing NSAID. The product should not be used for more than one week without consulting a doctor or if the patient is allergic to any active or inactive ingredients. Triceptin should also not be used with other topical analgesics or bandaged tightly or applied with local heat. If conditions worsen, irritation develops, or symptoms persist, a doctor should be consulted. The patch should be applied to clean and dry affected areas and only one should be used at a time, one patch should be used for 8-12 hours, and no more than 2 patches can be used per day.
