Orbactiv* (oritavancin) is a medication for intravenous infusion only. It comes in a single-dose vial that contains 400 mg of oitavancin. The recommended dosage is 1,200 mg administered as a single dose by intravenous infusion over three hours. Each vial should be reconstituted with 40 mL of sterile water for injection, and the reconstituted solution should be further diluted in 1,000 mL 5% Dextrose Injection as per the prescribing information before intravenous infusion. The medication should not be diluted with Sodium Chloride Injection. The medication should be stored between 20°C-25°C and excursions are permitted to 15°C-30°C.
