Minocin® (minocycline) for injection is a sterile, single-dose vial containing 100mg per vial of minocycline hydrochloride, magnesium sulfate heptahydrate, and sodium chloride. It must be reconstituted and then diluted for intravenous infusion. Each vial should be reconstituted with 1 mL of sterile water for injection. The reconstituted solution must be further diluted in 100 mL to 1000 mL of infusion before use. The usual adult dose is an initial dose of 200mg, then 100mg every 12 hours and should not exceed 400mg in 24 hours. Unused portions should be discarded. Detailed instructions for dilution, indications, and dosage are found in the package insert. The product must be stored at controlled room temperature between 20°C and 25°C.
