The drug facts indicate that the inactive ingredient is sodium chloride and the active ingredient is purified water. The eye wash solution is intended for external use only to remove loose foreign material from the eye. The bottle comes with a twist-able lid, and the solution is gently squeezed to flush the affected eye. The rate of flow of solution is controlled by the pressure on the bottle. The eye wash solution should be used before the expiration date, and if the container's seal is broken before use, it should not be used.
