This is a description of a children's allergy medication called MAX Alera. It contains Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride as an antihistamine. It is a dye-free oral solution that helps relieve symptoms such as a runny nose, sneezing, itchy and watery eyes, and itchy throat due to hay fever or other upper respiratory allergies. It is suitable for children aged 6-11 years. The bottle contains 8 FL.0Z (236 mL) of solution. The active ingredient is Diphenhydramine HCI 12.5 mg per 5 mL. The dosage for children 6 to 11 years is 5 mL to 10 mL. It should not be used by children under 2 years old unless directed by a doctor. The medication should not be used with any other product containing diphenhydramine or to make a child sleepy. It should be stored at room temperature, between 20°- 25°C (68°-77°F), protected from light. Before using it, it is recommended to consult a doctor if the child has a breathing problem, glaucoma, or is on a sodium-restricted diet, or if the child is taking sedatives or tranquilizers. The product may cause marked drowsiness and excitability, especially in children. It should be kept out of reach of children, and in case of overdose, medical help should be sought or a Poison Control Center should be contacted. Directions for use include not taking more than 6 doses in any 24 hours, taking every 4 to 6 hours, measuring with the provided dosing cup, and keeping the dosing cup with the product.
