Sodium Bicarbonate Injection USP, 8.4% is a clear, sterile and nonpyrogenic solution for intravenous use. It is available in a single-dose vial containing 50 mEq/50 mL (1 mEq/mL) of sodium bicarbonate. Each mL of solution contains 84mg of sodium bicarbonate in water for injection. To adjust pH, either carbon dioxide or nitrogen may be used. The vial does not contain any bacteriostat, and any unused portion should be discarded. It should not be resterilized. The recommended storage temperature is between 20°C to 26°C. This medication should be protected from freezing. The usual dosage is indicated in the insert included in the package. The product is distributed by Hospira, Inc., located in Lake Forest, IL 60045, USA, and repackaged and distributed by Medical Purchasing Solutions in Scottsdale, AZ 85260.*
