15T MedX-Patch is a pain-relieving patch that can be used to treat mild to moderate acute or chronic pain, caused by conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, musculo-ligamentous strains, and neuropathies, among others. Its active ingredients include menthol, lidocaine, methyl salicylate, and capsaicin. Menthol acts as a weak kappa opioid receptor agonist, local anesthetic, and counterirritant, while lidocaine blocks nerve impulses by decreasing ionic flux through the neuronal membrane. Methyl salicylate increases blood flow to the area and capsaicin depletes substance P, the principal chemical mediator of pain impulses. The patch's pain relief varies from patient to patient, and it should be used externally, as directed by a physician. It should not be applied to open wounds, cuts, damaged or infected skin, eyes, mouth, genitals, or any other mucous membranes, nor covered with a bandage. The product should be kept away from children and stored in a dry, cool place.*
