This is a description of Azelaic Acid Gel containing 0.15 gm Azelaic acid as the active ingredient in an aqueous gel base. The gel also includes benzoic acid as a preservative, caprylic/capric triglycerides, carbopol 980, edetate disodium, polysorbate 80, propylene glycol, purified water, and sodium hydroxide to adjust pH. The gel is for topical use only and should not be used ophthalmically, orally, or intravaginally. The recommended dosage is to apply a thin layer twice daily to affected areas on the face.
