Carmustine-carton-label (Carmustine Carton Label)
This is a description for Carmustine for Injection, USP, a medication used for intravenous infusion after reconstitution. Each carton includes one vial of Carmustine for Injection, USP (100 mg) and one vial of Sterile Diluent for Carmustine for Injection, USP (3 mL). It is recommended to store the medication in a refrigerator at 2° to 8°C (36° to 46°F) and to wear gloves while handling the containers. The medication should be reconstituted with the sterile diluent supplied, and then 27 mL of Sterile Water for Injection, USP should be added aseptically. Each mL of the resulting solution contains 3.3 mg of carmustine, USP in 10% ethanol. Once reconstituted, the medication is stable for 24 hours under refrigeration. Reconstituted vials should be checked for crystal formation prior to use, and if crystals are observed, the vial can be redissolved by warming it to room temperature with agitation. It is important to protect the medication from light. The usual dosage, indications, directions for use, and precautions can be found in the enclosed package insert.
