This medication comes in a single-dose vial containing 50 mg caspofungin equivalent to 55.5 mg caspofungin acetate, which requires further dilution to obtain a concentration of 5 mg/mL. Do not use diluents containing dextrose. The preparation instructions are available in the package insert. The reconstituted solution may be stored for up to one hour at room temperature (<25°C) and must be used within 24 hours if stored at room temperature or within 48 hours if stored refrigerated. There is no preservative or bacteriostatic agent in this product. Inactive ingredients include sucrose, mannitol, glacial acetic acid, and sodium hydroxide.
